4 Ways To Get Your Business Ranked Higher On Google

Mar 18, 2020Business, Digital Marketing, News, Tips and More

Hi everyone. Jeremy here, founder of Littlejohn’s Web Shop.

If you’re a business owner, you probably already realize how important it is that your website ranks well on search engines, like Google.

After all, if your ideal clients are out there and searching for information and services that you can help them with…

but they can’t find you

…then you’re losing money!

Luckily, there are some simple steps you can take so that you rank higher on search engines, and so that your website shows up in more relevant searches.

Today, I’ll give you four quick tips on how to get your business website found on Google.

Number One: Optimize Your Website

To optimize your website, you need to do a little bit of keyword research.

Keyword research can feel daunting at first, but luckily there are a host of great research tools out there that do most of the work for you.

To begin, just start typing in searches that you think your prospects are probably looking for, and evaluate the data.

In some cases you may be right with your hunches, but in others you might be surprised.

Even wording common phrases just slightly different, and then embedding those keyword phrases throughout your website, can result in a lot more web traffic.

There’s no need to guess what your audience is searching for – Google will give you everything you need to know when you use a good keyword research tool.

Once you’ve discovered the best keywords for your niche, embed those keywords on your site and throughout your site the correct way.

It’s important to embed key words correctly, so that Google doesn’t think you’re trying to trick them into pulling your site up first. If any of your website optimization strategies look deceptive, you can get penalized for that.

Follow the rules and do what Google’s asking. You’re sure to get an increase in traffic and get found faster, not only by your business name, but by your product or service.

Number Two: Create (Or Update) Your Google Listing

Your Google listing is called “Google my business.”

And while it is a free listing on Google, it’s important to put some strategic thought into how you optimize this tool.

To start, fill in the bio on your listing and make sure you have the right name, address, and phone number everywhere online…not just on Google.

Check Facebook, Instagram, yellow pages, and insider pages to make sure your business information is consistent across the board.

When your listings are consistent, you’re going to come up higher on Google maps.

Creating, updating, and remaining consistent with your listing will help you increase your rankings, and will result in more website traffic.

Number Three: Use A Review System

A review system allows you to add all of your reviews to your website and is a much better method than just copying and pasting reviews as they come in.

A good review system has software capable of pulling all of your information from Google, Facebook, and anywhere someone may have written a review about you.

This information accumulates right on a page of your website so people can read all of your reviews and testimonials in one place.

It’s also critical to follow up with those customers who have left you reviews, and a good system can follow up for you. This saves you time, and gives you a better result.

Number Four: Start Blogging

To improve your rankings, you must start blogging.

Blogging proves that you’re the authority in your industry, and helps you gain favor with Google.

Google likes websites that create new content. You can design a beautiful website, optimize it with the most relevant keywords, and still watch your traffic go stagnant over time.

But by creating new content consistently in the form of blog posts, you increase your visibility, relevancy, and authority. This ensures that Google will rank you favorably month after month.

If you do all these things, or even start with one of them, you’re sure to get found faster on Google, and you’ll be turning those web visitors into customers.
